Responding to the application of SCSIT (Madridejos Campus) College of Criminology for Government Recognition, the CHED RO7 dispatched their RQAT team to the campus on November 16, 2012 for final inspection.
The RQAT Team consisted of Dean Paul Pioquinto from the University of Cebu College of Criminology ( Mandaue Lapulapu), and Dean Donald Narra from the University of Visayas College of Criminology.
Senior SCSIT officials including President Emeritus Dr. Doroteo M. Salazar and Assistant to the President for Student Affairs Mr. Teopistes Figuracion led the welcoming ceremony. The inspection started at about noon, and lasted until about 6:00PM.
Mr. Lorenzo Suhay Jr and Mr. Melvin Caranoo, College of Criminology Dean and Department Head, respectively, led the inspectors to campus facilities including the Crime Lab, Crime Scene Room, Library, Computer Lab, classrooms, and administrative offices on campus. Also, the team visited SCSIT’s swimming pool and basketball court facilities at Barangay Tarong as well as the NSTP community farm along the highway.
Overall, SCSIT passed the inspection with minor deficiencies, which the College of Criminology will comply within a month. “This is good news for all students who wish to build their career in Criminology”, Dr. Salazar said. “Already, SCSIT pride itself for having 19 passers, out of 26 examinees, who made it during the Board Examination for Criminologists held on October 26, 2012”, Salazar continued.
“The goal is to continue to vigorously build our capacity to deliver the most affordable but high quality education to our constituents”, added Dr. Roger Saldia, Assistant to the President.
